Regional Integration within Africa

Although policies of isolationism and separatism have taken the world by storm in recent years, the positive impact that regional integration has had within the African continent has been somewhat overlooked. Under the African Continental Free Trade Area, AfCFTA, the African Development Bank has estimated that the total sum of intra-African trade will increase by 25% which will ultimately boost total economic output by USD 29 trillion by the year 2050. The AfCFTA promotes the ease of access and ease of doing business within Africa by breaking down barriers to intra-African trading and simultaneously relaxing visa and border regulations within the continent.
